Insecta is a class of invertebrates within the arthropod phylum that have a chitinous exoskeleton, a three-body part (head, thorax, and abdomen), three pairs of jointed legs, compound eyes and one pair of antennae. They life cycle varies from one day to a few years. Insects mostly move by walking, flying, or sometimes swimming. Humans regard certain insects as pests. Some insects feed on sap, leaves or fruits, a few bite humans and livestock, alive and dead, to feed on blood, and some transmit diseases to humans, pets, and livestock.
